JP offer a range of curved bits to prevent the bit hitting the top of the mouth. Also called the nutcracker effect which is associated with pinching the tongue. This bit is also considered to be slightly milder then a french link with the oval-shaped link mouthpiece. The oval shape helps relieve some pressure on the tongue whhen rein pressure is applied.
